Messages from the Gods is my latest release, and, like my other albums, it features a collection of melodic songs with intelligent lyrics about the things that matter: the nature of our existence and our place in the larger world, how we are moved and changed by our loves, joys and sorrows, and how I, you, we can become our fullest selves amidst the chaos of everyday life.
Why the cheeky title, Messages from the Gods? Many songwriters I’ve heard talk about the creative process have expressed the experience that writing a song can be more like receiving than making something, almost as if one is accessing Plato’s Eternal Forms. It is an entirely subjective and mysterious process that always involves a deep ‘letting go’ and always leaves me profoundly filled. My hope is that you, as the listener, can share some of that experience.
